How many Christians are secretly dreading the return of Jesus? Because they haven’t grasped what “to live is Christ” really means. They don’t eagerly wait for Christ because they fear that he will return to deal with sin. Their sin.
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.

“To live is Christ” means no more sin management. No more wondering if we’re forgiven. No more keeping an account with God, because he does not keep an account with us. Once for all forgiveness! Every sin put away. There is no greater gift. There is no greater love.
We will live every day, forever, with a clear conscience, knowing we are freed from all the guilt of our dead works and freed unto all the true humanity of serving the living God. We will spend every day, forever, in “to live is Christ.”
“To live is Christ” is living in the full assurance of the New Covenant promises of God in Christ – every sin graciously forgiven and God’s law of love emblazoned upon our minds and hearts. It is living with Jesus + nothing as our hope. And finding him to be enough.
Now we can draw near to God with all the confidence in the world, knowing that we will only be met with grace and mercy. Never judgment or condemnation. Never rejection or retaliation. Only the very real active help in time of need of knowing that our salvation is secure, our future is with God, and our present is “to live is Christ.”
This rest for our souls is only possible in Christ. Only when he is enough. Only when he has finished the work. Only when his heart of gentleness and compassion satisfy your deepest longings. Only when his accomplishments are enough for you. Only when his record is all you are relying upon. Only when “to live is Christ.”
