Colossians 3:15. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.
What if the peace of Christ actually ruled in our hearts?
What if our source of true and lasting peace was the blood of the cross (Col. 1:20), rather than a change in our circumstance, or our behavior, or our leaders?
What if we saw the peace of Christ as our objective position in Christ, and not just as a subjective feeling to find?
What if we saw ourselves as complete in Christ?
What if we saw every other Christian as complete in him too?
What if God’s love for us created an internal assurance that calmed the storms of our souls?
What if that inner calm became our outward temperament?
What if we saw peace as not just the absence of conflict in church, but the presence of spiritual growth and abundance in each individual life?
What if the peace of Christ had the final say in every disagreement?
What if the peace of Christ could stifle arguments and accusations?
What if the peace of Christ could remove all our biases and prejudices?
What if the peace of Christ ruled in our sorrows? Our trials? Our temptations and failures?
What if the peace of Christ could remove the fear of what the future may hold?
What if the peace of Christ allowed us to offer the space for Christian liberty and growth without judgment?
What if the peace of Christ made us truly grateful for one another?
What if the peace of Christ removed our need to have control over people and situations?
What if the peace of Christ meant we no longer have to get our own way?
What if every set back wasn’t the end of the world?
What if the peace of Christ could free us from both stoicism and emotionalism, and make us truly self-aware?
What if the peace of Christ allowed us to be honest with each other?
What if the peace of Christ caused us to listen more and talk less?
What if the peace of Christ spurred us to sacrifice for others? Submit to others?
What if the peace of Christ produced a deep abiding love in our hearts for others?
What if the peace of Christ could keep us from running from conflict?
What if the peace of Christ allowed us to warn, admonish, and confront sin?
What if the peace of Christ meant we no longer have to be right all the time?
What if the peace of Christ in our heart flowed out of us in prayer for one another?
What if the peace of Christ in our hearts flowed out of us in fellowship with one another?
What if the peace of Christ in our hearts flowed out of us in encouragement, graciousness, and kindness toward one another?
What if the peace of Christ produced authenticity and integrity in us?
What if the peace of Christ could prevent our anger, wrath, and malice from returning?
What if the peace of Christ replaced our covetous greed?
What if the peace of Christ brought real contentment?
What if the peace of Christ kept us from avoiding each other?
What if the peace of Christ could remove all division between you and others?
What if our life’s mission was to spread the peace of Christ by the message of his cross?
What if the peace of Christ ruled in our hearts?
“To live is Christ” gives us the peace of Christ as the new rule of our hearts. When everything around us demands conflict, stress, and despair, the King of our hearts reminds us that everything is under his command. You’re not failing, you’re flourishing. You’re not alone, you’re in Christ. You’re never defeated, never without hope and forever loved.
