To live is Christ is to always begin from a place of humility before God, but then to boldly claim the imputed righteousness of Christ as our covenant friend, and to grow in your own covenant love and obedience for God.
To live is Christ is to grab hold of the hope of not only seeing God in Christ, but also being like God in Christ. A hope we can begin to realize even today.
To live is Christ means others may now look to us to see the righteous rule and reign of God. In Christ, we the upright can truly behold the face of Christ in one another.
As ungodly saints we pursue Christ. We trust Christ. We submit to Christ. We desire his life, his character, his love. His life becomes our law – the “law of Christ.” Not a law we must live up to, but a law that is alive in us. That’s “to live is Christ.”
