“To live is Christ” isn’t just something that happens to us, it is an invitation into what God is doing through us. It is the New Covenant being enacted IN our lives and BY our lives. By our faith in the indwelling life of Christ, and our faithful words and deeds, we make the good news of the New Covenant accessible to all that we come in contact with each and every day.
“To live is Christ” is to sit at the Lord’s table and partake of all the benefits of his life and his death. His forgiveness. His suffering. His resurrection. His cleansing. His acceptance. His inheritance. In Christ we have taken it all into our being.
That, my friends, is true Christianity. That is “to live is Christ.” Knowing that God has done it all. That it’s all of his grace. And that now, all that remains is to trust him.
“To live is Christ” is to live within each of these amazing New Covenant promises. Promises fulfilled by the self-giving love of Jesus Christ.
“To live is Christ” is possible because we are graciously granted entrance into God’s New Covenant with mankind through the man Christ Jesus. A covenant of unconditional love. A covenant of unbreakable hope.
Thank you Heavenly Father. Thank you for your abundant mercy in Christ that has restored to me the joy of my salvation, and upheld me with a willing spirit. Thank you for the New Covenant. Thank you for creating in me a forever clean heart. Thank you for eternal life. Thank you for “to live is Christ.”
