To live is Christ is to have this eternal Savior, our chosen champion of forgiveness and grace, placed in the gap by God himself. May we forever see the glory of this Savior, and refuse to exchange the glory of Christ for the lesser glories that captivate our hearts but can never heal our hearts as he can.
To live is Christ is to live within this great reversal, where everything in this life is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory as we, even now, are transformed from glory to glory until Christ appears.
To live is Christ is to be so full of God’s covenant love and faithfulness that even the caves of life can’t stop our unifying praise from rising up to Jesus.
In Christ this too is our greatest desire – the exaltation of Christ through our cruciform lives. Our immediate rescue takes a back seat to his glory. Our purpose no longer our own glory, but God’s glory reigning over all the earth as we embrace to live is Christ.
To live is Christ is to ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name – Jesus. Savior. Immanuel.
