“To live is Christ” means that we live beyond the Passover. Our union with Christ’s cross has destroyed our sins once for all. And our union with Christ’s resurrection has placed us into God himself. Not an appeased God who moves on. A pleased God who moves in.
“To live is Christ” means that God has fulfilled every one of his promises to you in Christ. He is our God and we are his people. This is not only our salvation, but it is also our purpose. We live from what we are. And we are in Christ.
Like the bush we burn with God’s holy presence without being consumed. How? Because “To live is Christ” is to have the imminent love and grace of God protecting our hearts as we are filled with the transcendent burning power of his goodness, justice, and righteousness.
“To live is Christ” is not a promise that God will prevent evil in our lives. But it is a promise that God will weave that evil into something beautiful in you. And that beauty is Christ himself.
