Galatians 5:6. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.
Paul has elevated love to the top of all virtues. This is one of the best summary statements for the Christian life- faith working through love. Loving is living. It is the end of all things.
God is love. His love is his zoe. It is God’s divine nature in us.
Love is what caused God to create. Not because he needed love, but because he could not contain his love.
Love is the image of God. When we love we image God and his life of love.
Love is the boundary of our freedom. We are free, but freed by love to love.
Love is impact. It is serving and protecting the garden. It’s making a difference, and bringing justice.
Love is our glory. No need to chase anymore. We are loved because God believes we’re worth it. And loving graciously allows us to experience our worth.
Love is the purity of goodness. There is no goodness without love. No morality. No kindness. No grace.
Love is the new heart. It is the new desire. The new controlling affection of our souls.
“To live is Christ” is to love. The life we are living is Christ’s life to live. Therefore the life we live must be a life of love, because Christ is Love. And by faith this Love now indwells you. Faith in Christ’s love for us sends his love through us. Love without faith will be simple attraction, attachment, reciprocity or worse, manipulation or control. But love by faith in Love will be true, pure, free, and life giving.
