TLIC Psalms. May 21. Your Bounty.

Read Psalm 65:9-13.  9You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. 10You water its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth. 11You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with abundance. 12The pastures of the wilderness overflow, the hills gird themselves with joy, 13the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy.

Have you gone outside yet today? If not let me encourage you to stop reading and get out there. Open your eyes to the beautiful bounty of God in creation. God visits with all mankind daily through the natural world’s economy, preparing, providing, and pouring his abundance out on us in love. The overflowing wilderness. The exuberant hills. The accoutered meadows. The gussied up valleys. Each joining in the chorus of joy and praise to their Creator.

If this is nature’s response to God’s abundant grace, how much more must to live is Christ awaken our hearts to join the cry of nature’s song in praise to God as we await his renewal of all things in Christ.

You: Do you enjoy being out in creation? How can you cultivate creation care as a discipline in your life?

You in Christ: How does your union with Christ allow you to use nature as a portal to worshiping God rather than worshiping nature itself?

Christ in you: How can you join nature’s chorus of praise today?

Pray: Jesus, today may I join the everlasting song and crown you Lord of all creation. Amen.
