“To live is Christ” is hope, faith, and love, with love as the end of all things.
“To live is Christ” means that you are in Christ and Christ is in you. But the Christ in you is embryonic. A seed. A life that is slowly but surely growing you into the life and love of Jesus.
“To live is Christ” means embracing your adoption and learning to cry to your Abba. To live all of life from his delight in you, and your dependence on him.
“To live is Christ” IS Christ lives in me. No more and no less.
“To live is Christ” is therefore much, much, more than self-denial or the “imitation of Christ.” It is a whole new identity, a new reality, a new nature. It’s a whole new life and a whole new way to live. Alive through death. Living by dying.
