You are being transformed into Christ. How do I know? Because it is God’s good pleasure that “to live is Christ” be our life. And God always gets what he wants in the end.
“To live is Christ” is to experience the fullness of God in Christ, the fullness freely given to us by Christ’s own emptying, so that then we can, like Jesus, empty our lives out in humility and grace for the glory of God and the good of others.
“To live is Christ” is to find a joyous and beautiful unity within the body of Christ as we share his mind. A mind that is set upon love from God and affection for others. A mind that is centered on the love that is now our very life.
“To live is Christ” means taking up his cross of suffering and following Jesus into a broken and battered world. It means embracing the burden and loss of the crucified life.
When we can imagine ourselves in the shared embrace of the Trinity, dancing in the perfect rhythm of the glorious grace of the godhead. If and when we believe all of this, then we will be ready to live. We will be ready to embrace “to live is Christ.”
“To live is Christ” is to live sharing the affections, the loves, of Jesus himself. May that love that has been poured into us now and forever abound more and more with added knowledge and insight. May we choose to know those we already love.
