To live is Christ is to boast continually in the victory of Christ. His ancient victory. His present victory. His victory yet to come.

To live is Christ means his future is ours. His triumph is ours. His blessing is ours. His eternity is ours. Ours to share from everlasting to everlasting. And when we trust completely in this shared future with Christ we can then turn repayment of our betrayers over to him alone, knowing that his vengeance over our enemies allows for our forgiveness of the same.

When our prayers move from save me to glorify your name then, and only then, do we know that our hearts have moved to the liberating faith of Jesus in us. A faith that can truly say to live is Christ and to die is gain.

To live is Christ removes the sacrifice for sin and replaces it with the sacrifice of praise. It replaces duty with delight.
