It is good to be thankful morning and night for the cross, for the empty tomb, for the gift of new life in Christ, for union with the Spirit. If you can’t thank God for anything else today, thank him for salvation full and free. Thank him that to live is Christ.
To live is Christ is to be full of the love of God. Love poured into us by the Holy Spirit as we trust in him. Love that will hold us fast, and love that allows us to hold fast to Christ and his promises. Promises that can stabilize the most wave tossed life.
To live is Christ, is to know how to face the trials and temptations of today with a view towards our future in him, never allowing the false gospel of prosperity to tempt the Lord our God.
To live is Christ means saying to the Lord what Jesus would say. If Christ can say it so can you, even if you’re not quite fully there, say it anyway. It’s not hypocrisy, it’s hope.
To live is Christ is to live within this great reversal, where everything in this life is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory as we, even now, are transformed from glory to glory until Christ appears.
