Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
So pray for revival if you must. Not as a fresh movement of God towards us, there is no more left for God to do beyond the cross, but as a fresh movement of us toward God. A renewed understanding of the gospel. A more honest confession of sin. A deeper commitment to to live is Christ.
To live is Christ is to have nothing withheld that is good. Union with Christ assures us of this. All that is his is ours. All his favor and honor. All his upright ways. Knowing this, we can now choose the presence of Christ over the absence of problems.
To live is Christ is the pilgrim way. A journey from strength to strength, glory to glory, as we walk with the Lord, drinking from his love in the deserts of life.
Have we learned how to live in God’s presence together, or has to live is Christ been for you a solitary, “personal relationship with Christ” to the exclusion of his true temple – the church.
To live is Christ is to trust everything the Lord allows. The mountain top and the valley. The glory and the shame. Life and death. Everything is his pursuit of our hearts. Everything is for our good and his glory.
To live is Christ means we can leave all of this up to God. Vengeance is his, never ours. Like Gideon of old, ours is to take up the “sword of the Lord,” which is the word of God, using it to pierce the soul and spirit, revealing the thoughts an intentions of the heart.
