To live is Christ is to live within a story much bigger than yours alone. And it is to invite the next generation to join you in Christ’s eternal drama of rescue and relationship.
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
To live is Christ is to live within a story much bigger than yours alone. And it is to invite the next generation to join you in Christ’s eternal drama of rescue and relationship.
If the Israelites were admonished to remember the Exodus, how much more must we who are in Christ remember the invasion of Jesus into humanity, and the redemption of our souls from our slavery to self? How much more does to live is Christ remind us that we can trust the one experienced the flesh in our place?
To live is Christ is to experience our never condemning, always redeeming, always near God.
This is the result of the cross – eternal redemption. All who are in Christ will live every day, forever, in the glory of Christ’s freeing sacrifice for sins. Every debt paid. The disease of sin cured. Christ’s own blood redeeming us unto “to live is Christ.”
“To live is Christ” is to embrace that it is finished. Our salvation is complete in him. Our redemption, our sanctification, our righteousness, Jesus has become all for us. All by his grace.
“To live is Christ” is unlike any other religion on earth. It is all of Christ and all of his grace. He has freely given us his life and all that comes with it – wisdom, goodness, holiness, freedom. We have been given these things for free in order to freely be these things. Not to earn, not to achieve, not to boast, but to freely reflect the love and grace of God that came down from the mountain top to bring righteousness, sanctification, and redemption to a lost world.
