To live is Christ is to trust everything the Lord allows. The mountain top and the valley. The glory and the shame. Life and death. Everything is his pursuit of our hearts. Everything is for our good and his glory.
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
To live is Christ is to trust everything the Lord allows. The mountain top and the valley. The glory and the shame. Life and death. Everything is his pursuit of our hearts. Everything is for our good and his glory.
To live is Christ means we can leave all of this up to God. Vengeance is his, never ours. Like Gideon of old, ours is to take up the “sword of the Lord,” which is the word of God, using it to pierce the soul and spirit, revealing the thoughts an intentions of the heart.
To live is Christ is to love our enemies, to pray for them, to bless and not curse, knowing that every enemy of ours is actually an enemy of God, an enemy that he died for, and to whom he offers full and free forgiveness.
Only as we embrace our union with Christ will we embrace the coming judgment of Jesus. Only the security of grace, the security of being in Christ, can cause us to abdicate our role as god, and admit our failure as judge. Only by to live is Christ will we cry out, “Come Lord Jesus.”
To live is Christ gives us the hope of glory, a hope that lets us draw the sweet honey of God’s love and faithfulness from the rocks of life.
To live is Christ is to live open hearted before him, ready to receive his grace and mercy. To receive his test of faith without putting him to the test. To trust that everything he gives and everything he withholds is for our good.
