To live is Christ is to live with all the fullness of God. The fullness of his truth joined by the fullness of his love. The fullness of his righteousness kissing the fullness of his peace. Yes, we can be honest and caring at the same time. We can call pursue righteousness and pursue peace at the same time. We can and we must by his grace.
To live is Christ is to live a life of hope. Hope in the indwelling, unending, never changing loving eye of God that produces the character of Jesus in us by the Spirit.
To live is Christ means that Jesus and his cross rescued you from everlasting death and destruction, and if you can meditate on that most precious of rescues, then your heart may just begin to overflow with love for God.
The end of days vision of “to live is Christ” is not one of a potter molding clay, or of a shepherd guiding sheep. It is two star crossed lovers, emerging from the wilderness, leaning on each other.
From God’s perfect love may we see love perfected in us. May we love sacrificially without fear. May we love humbly yet boldly. May we love because we are loved. May we “to live is Christ.”
