Now there is shining into our hearts an eternal hope in his eternal goodness and grace. Now there is the light of love.
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
Now there is shining into our hearts an eternal hope in his eternal goodness and grace. Now there is the light of love.
“To live is Christ” means that Jesus is far more than our example for how to live. He IS our life. We are made alive by our union with his life and we live from our union with his life. This is abundant life, for it is the life of grace and freedom. No longer must we figure life out. No longer must we self-actualize. No. Life has been lived for us by Jesus, and now it is lived through us by Jesus. And together with Jesus we will live in love forever.
“To live is Christ” means you are never too far gone. Even when you were dead in your trespasses and sins God made you alive in Christ. And that same life is still quickening you today and every day. Your dry bones are becoming flesh. God is using you wherever you are. His love and grace are ready to flow through you, as you hear and believe his word spoken over you.
“To live is Christ” means we can and should expect the love of Jesus to overwhelm our lives each and every day. Why? Because his love has already overwhelmed every enemy of love there is – fear, death, shame, guilt. Now we can love freely from freely given love. Not purchased love, but a love that purchased us.
Have you received Christ’s life? Have you chosen to live forever with him and never be forgotten? Have you chosen “to live is Christ?”
“To live is Christ” removes all fear of man. As we more and more trust that God is for us and that the light of his life is in us, we will be released from being controlled by the actions, opinions, and acceptance of others.
