“To live is Christ” means no more fear of dying and no more fear of living.
“To live is Christ” means that Jesus as our judge is good news! In him, our judgment day has already occurred. We have already passed through the fires of judgment day in our dying with him on the cross. And, in him, we have already passed from death into life by our resurrection with him. Now, in Christ’s eternal forgiveness, we can live free from the fear of all judgment. And we can live free from the need to judge all others. Jesus is the judge. Not you. Not me. And that too is good news.
“To live is Christ” offers us the hard path of Jesus’ own life and righteousness, and the narrow gate of his grace and forgiveness. Which gate will you walk through today? Which road will you choose to travel?
“To live is Christ” may not always appear to be right, but the way of Christ will always lead to life. Not an easy life, but a life of love, a life of honor, a life of real joy and peace. Beware, all other ways will only lead to death.
