“To live is Christ” does not mean that we won’t sin (obviously). But it does mean that when we sin, and when we are confronted, we have a chance to respond with godly grief.
“To live is Christ” is to constantly sorrow and constantly rejoice. This kind of living in both columns at once is only possible in Christ.
“To live is Christ” is to become therefore what we already are – the righteousness of God.
“To live is Christ” is to be reconciled to God by his justifying work. But beyond this, it is to spread the message of reconciliation that flows from God through each of us united to Christ.
“To live is Christ” unites us to Christ as the future new creation right now. The victory is won! And yet the battle of the new creation rages in each of us.
