To live is Christ means living each day under this sure defense. And it means joining in praise with all who take refuge in him.
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
To live is Christ means living each day under this sure defense. And it means joining in praise with all who take refuge in him.
One thing we can know for sure as we lay on our beds at night and all the stresses of the day lay in a pile next to us is that Christ is with us. The shining light of his presence illuminates our hearts. No fear, no shame, no anger can darken his light of love. It is forever. It is no matter what. It is to live is Christ.
May we today and every day pray, “Come Lord Jesus!”, while we remember that our Lord Jesus has already come into our hearts. This new year may we live as if “to live is Christ.”
This year don’t place your hope in the new year. Place your hope in the new creation, the new birth. Our new reality that is found in Christ and his unfailing covenant presence. And we don’t need a calendar change for that. No resolutions necessary. Just faith in “to live is Christ.”
The end of days vision of “to live is Christ” is not one of a potter molding clay, or of a shepherd guiding sheep. It is two star crossed lovers, emerging from the wilderness, leaning on each other.
We can have real joy in the midst of this great battle, for our dwelling is no longer the earth and sea but ours are the heavenly places, for we are seated with Christ at the right hand of God. Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! That’s us! That’s “to live is Christ.”
