This rest for our souls is only possible in Christ. Only when his accomplishments are enough for you. Only when his record is all you are relying upon. Only when “to live is Christ.”
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
This rest for our souls is only possible in Christ. Only when his accomplishments are enough for you. Only when his record is all you are relying upon. Only when “to live is Christ.”
Remember, this is NOT about exhorting others to have more faith in their faith. It’s about exhorting one another to simply trust our Savior Jesus and our union with him. To remember that “to live is Christ” is a day by day experience of Jesus that lasts to the end, and beyond.
Our better David has set us free from the fear of death and dying. Now, like him, we can pass through the portal of death into glory. There’s nothing that stands in our way. The path is cleared The battlefield is empty. The giant is dead. All that remains is “to live is Christ.”
Point to Jesus. Not yourself. Point to the Shepherd. Point to his death and resurrection. Point to his eternal covenant. Point to “to live is Christ.”
“To live is Christ” has taken you from Mount Sinai to Mount Zion. But at which mountain are you worshiping in your heart and mind? In Christ you have made it to Zion! Today, will you worship God in the beauty of his glory and grace with all the saints and angels, trusting in Jesus, our great mediator, alone? Or will you run back to the terror of the law?
“To live is Christ” will you get you home. How do I know? Because you are the joy that has been set before Jesus. You are his prize. His reward. His love. And now he is yours. So look to him. And run. Run to the arms of the one who has already run to you.
