When you have been shown grace as godliness, then you have been taught “to live is Christ.”
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
When you have been shown grace as godliness, then you have been taught “to live is Christ.”
Today will allow the same faith in the same grace that justified to also sanctify you? Today will your life abound in thanksgiving to God for his saving love in Jesus his Son? Today will you “to live is Christ.”
“To live is Christ” is not earning, but it is effort. The grace driven effort of resting in God’s goodness and faithfulness. The striving of faith in his unconditional love. It is a joy filled effort of running together, side by side, with the one who has already run in our place and won us the victory.
“To live is Christ” is to live by grace through faith unto good works. In that order. Any other way is not the life of Christ in us. When Christ’s good works flow effortlessly from our simple unstated faith in the gracious love of our Savior… that’s God’s workmanship. His work of art. His glory.
“To live is Christ” means that God’s glorious grace is living in us. It is not just an external principle to follow. It is a life to be received. It is everything. Our beginning, middle, and end. Our source and our goal. Our cause and our effect. We have received grace, that we might live from grace, to the praise of grace. God’s glorious grace.
“To live is Christ” allows us to take a deeply honest look at our own wretchedness as law keepers and then place our hope in the one who will deliver us from the body of death.
