“To live is Christ” means that God’s peace dwells in our hearts because, through our union with Christ, God is as pleased with us as he is with his Son.
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
“To live is Christ” means that God’s peace dwells in our hearts because, through our union with Christ, God is as pleased with us as he is with his Son.
The virgin Mary didn’t make Jesus’ life. Jesus was a gift to her. His life was given by God and placed into her life. United to hers. By grace. The same grace that is for us all. Why? Because advents are for everyone. God is for everyone. Jesus is for everyone. Will you be for him?
“To live is Christ” means Jesus has washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.
“To live is Christ” means never, ever, ever, decreasing in our need for grace. Why? Because Christ in us is constantly revealing more and more of the dark crevices of our souls, bringing us to a place of wretchedness (Rom. 7:24), and revealing the most dangerous sin of the human heart – self-righteousness.
“To live is Christ” is a multiplication project. Multiplying the grace of Christ Jesus into the lives of others through our faithful teaching of the gospel. No one said it would be easy. But the promise of God’s strength through grace will stand forever.
By God’s grace, as we choose to faithfully express Christ’s power, love, and self-control in our own thoughts, choices, and emotional expressions, this faith will become our soul’s habit, our controlling spiritual instinct, our ongoing disposition to the world. Now, our spirit of fear is being gradually replaced with the Spirit of Jesus. Living in fear is being replaced with “to live is Christ.”
