To live is Christ is to live in this dual knowledge of God’s avenging and atoning. Christ alone accomplishes both. Where does this leave the Christian? But we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise.
“To live is Christ” is to be rescued, ransomed, and set apart in holiness. Rescued from the power of sin. Ransomed from the penalty of sin. And therefore set apart from sin’s pleasure into the greater pleasure of God’s grace in Christ.
“To live is Christ” means no more sin management. No more wondering if we’re forgiven. No more keeping an account with God, because he does not keep an account with us. Once for all forgiveness! Every sin put away. There is no greater gift. There is no greater love.
