Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
“To live is Christ” means having the justice and righteousness of God imputed to us in spite of us. Now we can sing our humble songs of praise as we look forward to the day of the Lord part two. The day of Christ’s return. The day of judgment. Why? Because we have already passed through the judgment of Christ’s cross and been granted the justice and righteousness of our Savior.
“To live is Christ” means the Spirit of the great Prophet, Jesus, is now prophesying through us as we speak the gospel to all we meet in this valley of decision. God’s message of love and light displayed on the cross on the day of the Lord, is now the only message that can save this world from the gloom and darkness of the day of the Lord that is to come.
“To live is Christ” means that we are living in the greatest love story ever told. Not because we have been so faithful to Christ, but because his great love for us goes beyond our unfaithfulness, our disloyalty, our harlotry. His great love woos us home each time we stray as he speaks tenderly to us of his eternal mercy and grace.
“To live is Christ” means that our destiny is that of the Son of Man – an everlasting kingdom given to the Son of Man and then given to us. A kingdom without evil and suffering. Without death and sorrow. Without tears or pain. A kingdom of love and goodness where we will serve and obey our good and gracious king forever and ever.
“To live is Christ” means trusting the reality of your fire proof life. And as you trust Christ’s life more and more, your faith will prove to the world the grace and faithfulness of God in Christ. The world will see you walk around unbound in the midst of the fire with Jesus and they will declare like Nebuchadnezzar, “there is no other God who is able to rescue in this way.”
“To live is Christ” means you are never too far gone. Even when you were dead in your trespasses and sins God made you alive in Christ. And that same life is still quickening you today and every day. Your dry bones are becoming flesh. God is using you wherever you are. His love and grace are ready to flow through you, as you hear and believe his word spoken over you.
