“To live is Christ” IS Christ lives in me. No more and no less. His death is our death. His life is our life. All that is his is ours.
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
“To live is Christ” IS Christ lives in me. No more and no less. His death is our death. His life is our life. All that is his is ours.
“To live is Christ” is therefore much, much, more than self-denial or the “imitation of Christ.” It is a whole new identity, a new reality a new nature. It’s a whole new life and a whole new way to live. Alive through death. Living by dying.
So here we are, trapped in the dead end of the law. If only there was a whole new way to live. If only there was “to live is Christ.”
What if the most important decision you face today isn’t what to do, but rather how to do it?
“To live is Christ” means that our faith in the indwelling Lord of glory is transforming us. The indwelling Spirit is conforming us to his likeness. Your faith, if truly focused on Christ’s work for you (remember object, not amount), will result in works.
Before you do anything else behold the mercy of God. And then speak and act like the child of mercy that you are. That’s “to live is Christ.”
