“To live is Christ” is to be this image of the Image. The receiver and reflector of the grace, power, love, and wisdom of God that is Christ Jesus our Lord.
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
“To live is Christ” is to be this image of the Image. The receiver and reflector of the grace, power, love, and wisdom of God that is Christ Jesus our Lord.
“To live is Christ” means there’s nothing left to earn. Nothing left to do. No performance left to give. No right to make wrong. No guilt to overcome. No history to delete. Nothing to add-on. No more “ands” to get done today. Just Jesus. Just his love and forgiveness. Now that’s deliverance.
Being filled with the knowledge of God’s will (Christ-likeness) and being instinctively controlled by the wisdom and understanding of God (Christ himself) is faith. It is “to live is Christ.”
When we forget about Jesus we lose all contentment. But when we remember all that is ours IN HIM, nothing will be able to steal our contentment away. Nothing. We will worship in all things. We will trust in all things. And all things will become “to live is Christ.”
“To live is Christ” is to stand firm in the life altering hope of his glorious return for us one day. A future hope that allows us to respond to our present reality with all faith, hope, love, joy, and peace.
“To live is Christ” is not earning, but it is effort. The grace driven effort of resting in God’s goodness and faithfulness. The striving of faith in his unconditional love. It is a joy filled effort of running together, side by side, with the one who has already run in our place and won us the victory. It is a race that never ends, but who would ever want it to? Not me.
