“To live is Christ” is therefore much, much, more than self-denial or the “imitation of Christ.” It is a whole new identity, a new reality, a new nature. It’s a whole new life and a whole new way to live. Alive through death. Living by dying.
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
“To live is Christ” is therefore much, much, more than self-denial or the “imitation of Christ.” It is a whole new identity, a new reality, a new nature. It’s a whole new life and a whole new way to live. Alive through death. Living by dying.
And so here we are, trapped in the dead end of the law. Deceived into thinking that what condemns us will actually justify us. If only there was a whole new way to live. If only there was “to live is Christ.”
What if the most important decision you face today isn’t what to do, but rather how to do it?
“To live is Christ” means that our faith in the indwelling Lord of glory is transforming us. The indwelling Spirit is conforming us to his likeness.
Before you do anything else behold the mercy of God. And then speak and act like the child of mercy that you are. That’s “to live is Christ.”
“To live is Christ” has filled us with the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. And this glory, when received in faith, will melt away all our partiality, all our favoritism, all our prejudice. And it will leave in its place obedience to the royal law of love. Love for everyone. Which is love for God.
