It is in the cross and the empty tomb that we see exactly who God is. The great I Am, our Light and our Life, is the One who would die for us and who would live for us forever.
Here’s the truly incredible thing. Transfiguration isn’t just for Jesus. It’s for you and me too. It’s for all who are in Christ.
“To live is Christ” means we who were once lost are now found. Found in the arms of our running, hugging, kissing, rejoicing dad.
If “to live is Christ,” then to live is to live the crucified life. A life made possible by our death with Jesus that has ended all striving, all earning, and all performing.
“To live is Christ” is the rest and ease of being yoked to Jesus and his life. A yoke that brings us into the love of the Trinity where everything our heart needs is provided by the indwelling life of our gentle Savior. Ahhhhhhh.
