To live is Christ is to live from every one of these spiritual blessings in Christ. What was spoken of old over you, declare each day over yourself.
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
To live is Christ is to live from every one of these spiritual blessings in Christ. What was spoken of old over you, declare each day over yourself.
To live is Christ is to exalt the name of Christ all the day long, walking in the light of his face, exalted in his righteousness, knowing that by his cross love and justice have met in our hearts. This is how we read the psalms, and this is how we live our lives.
To live is Christ is to live in the same covenant forever as King David. Christ on the throne with us, his saints, gathered around it crying worthy is the Lamb who was slain. It is to trust that our feeling rejected forever will one day end, while Christ’s forever love for us never will.
To live is Christ is often to live in the darkness of the crucified life, the darkness of embracing the hopelessness of this life in order to sacrifice for others for the next – death at work in us so that life might be at work in them (2 Cor. 4:12).
To live is Christ is to cry out day and night to the God who sees and hears, even when the darkness inside of us tries to say that he doesn’t. It is to come honestly to God with all our pain and all our doubt trusting the one who walked through the darkest valley before us.
To live is Christ means we are already citizens of the New Jerusalem, the heavenly Zion. We are the singers and dancers who declare all my springs are in you, Jesus. All my joy flows from knowing and trusting you. And it means all enmity has been destroyed as even historic enemies now worship together in the city that takes form anywhere those in Christ gather.
