“To live is Christ” is to face suffering beyond what we can bear, but it is never to face a temptation beyond what we can bear. Until Christ returns the temptations will always be there. But in Christ, we have all we need to flee. All the hope, all the faith, and all the love we need to take up the cross, and escape into resurrection life.
“To live is Christ” is the marriage of knowledge and love. Truth and grace. But remember, knowledge alone serves no one. It only feeds the selfish flesh. But knowledge alongside love might just change the world.
“To live is Christ” means we are the purchased, priceless, possession of God – body, soul, and spirit. We are God’s holy dwelling place. Now the question is, will we live out bodily what we are spiritually?
“To live is Christ” means that we are one spirit with Christ. Like a marriage, the two have become one. We share Jesus’ nature while keeping our unique personhood. What love! Christ’s love for you says. “I truly love YOU and want you to stay you.” And at the same time Christ’s love says, “I truly want you to change and grow and be the best you that you can be – the you that’s like me.”
“To live is Christ” means all things are yours. The world. Life. Death. The future. The past. Everything in this life is for you to experience, learn from, and enjoy when bounded by the law of love.
