The angels point to our salvation, but they do not understand it and they do not experience it. Only we do. And only in Christ.
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
The angels point to our salvation, but they do not understand it and they do not experience it. Only we do. And only in Christ.
“To live is Christ” is bold belonging. It is undeserved acceptance. And there’s nothing better in this world than that. So today, take a moment to sit with your acceptance. Don’t do anything. Don’t try to make progress. Don’t make a plan. Don’t form an intention. Don’t perform. Just sit at the feet of Grace. Let him heal your heart and settle your soul. Let him remind you that you are his, and he is yours, and that’s all you need.
“To live is Christ” is to be rescued, ransomed, and set apart in holiness. Rescued from the power of sin. Ransomed from the penalty of sin. And therefore set apart from sin’s pleasure into the greater pleasure of God’s grace in Christ.
When your suffering makes you feel dead inside, let Jesus’ faithful love for you stir up your faithful love for him. Don’t desperately search for your love for him. Seek first his love for you. And then you might just find that you share that love. You’ll find out that your faith is real. You’ll know that “to live is Christ.”
“To live is Christ” is our living hope. May all lesser hopes point our hearts to the ultimate hope of our future with Jesus, and with the Father. With the eternal love and glory of the Trinity. And may our living hope change how we live today. Free from manufacturing a dying hope from the present moment. And free to live our sorrowful today as if it is our glorious tomorrow.
Point to Jesus. Not yourself. Point to the Shepherd. Point to his death and resurrection. Point to his eternal covenant. Point to “to live is Christ.”
