TLIC Daily. October 23. The Peace of Christ.

Colossians 3:15. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.

What if the peace of Christ actually ruled in our hearts?

What if our source of true and lasting peace was the blood of the cross (Col. 1:20), rather than a change in our circumstances, our behaviors, or our leaders?

What if we saw the peace of Christ as our objective position in Christ, and not just as a subjective feeling to find?

What if God’s love for us created an internal assurance that calmed the storms of our souls?

What if that inner calm became our outward temperament?

What if we saw peace as not just the absence of conflict in church, but the presence of spiritual growth and abundance in each individual life?

What if the peace of Christ had the final say in every disagreement? Every argument? Every accusation?

What if the peace of Christ ruled in our sorrows? Our trials? Our temptations and failures?

What if the peace of Christ could remove the fear of what the future may hold?

What if the peace of Christ allowed us to offer the space for Christian liberty and growth without judgment?

What if the peace of Christ removed our need to have control over people and situations?

What if the peace of Christ allowed us to be honest with each other?

What if the peace of Christ produced a deep-abiding love in our hearts for others?

What if the peace of Christ meant we no longer have to be right all the time?

What if the peace of Christ in our hearts flowed out of us in prayer for one another?

What if the peace of Christ in our hearts flowed out of us in fellowship with one another?

What if the peace of Christ produced authenticity and integrity in us?

What if the peace of Christ could prevent our anger, wrath, and malice from returning?

What if the peace of Christ replaced our covetous greed?

What if the peace of Christ brought real contentment?

What if the peace of Christ kept us from avoiding each other?

What if the peace of Christ could remove all division between you and others?

What if our life’s mission was to spread the peace of Christ by the message of his cross?

What if the peace of Christ ruled in our hearts?

To live is Christ gives us the peace of Christ as the new rule of our hearts. When everything around us demands conflict, stress, and despair, the King of our hearts reminds us that everything is under his command. You’re not failing, you’re flourishing. You’re not alone, you’re in Christ. You’re never defeated, never without hope, and forever loved.

You: Does the peace of Christ rule your heart?

You in Christ: How does peace WITH God in Christ produce the peace OF Christ in our hearts?

Christ in you: Where can you see the peace of Christ flowing out of your life?
